Internet Down

Here are some troubleshooting tips when your internet goes down for your home or office.

  1. Check to see if anybody else in your network is having connection issues.  If nobody else is having issue then it may be isolated to your computer workstation.  First thing to try is to close all your applications and shut down your system.  After it has shut down, turn it back on, log in and see if your internet access is restored.
  2. If everybody else is having issues connecting to the internet, please contact your systems administrator first.
  3. If you do not have a systems administrator, give us a call at 408.BAY.WELL (229.9355) ext. 2 and if we have asked you to do this before, please go to your server or telecom room and check your cable/dsl/t1 modem to see if it is functioning normally.
  4. If it does not appear to be functioning normally, please call your Internet Service Provider and ask if there is an outage in your area or any service going on that may be affecting your access.  Have them check to see if they can test their connection to you.
  5. If they claim everything is good, it may be possible that you need to have your router/switch reboot.  If we have shown you how to do this in the past, please go ahead and notify all users to save all documents and log off their computers before you do the restart on the router/switch.  If you have never done this before, please contact our support team 408.BAY.WELL (229.9355) ext. 2 for assistance.
